Scott Fricke
Strength & Conditioning Director


Fricke has been a certified fitness, health, and performance professional since 1992. He served as strength & conditioning coach for the most powerful agent in professional baseball and held the same role with the NCAA. He is a former EMT and played collegiate baseball at Northern Colorado.

The team at McNamara Baseball Group is passionate about providing much-needed services to baseball’s elite players, ensuring the best representation and advice whether it be Major League arbitration and free agency, the amateur draft, or product endorsements and marketing contracts.

Tim Murphy
Research Consultant

Murphy is regarded as one of the best research professionals in the industry who has crafted more than 120 arbitration cases. In his tenure, he has prepared and aided in contract negotiations totaling more than $1 billion in player salaries. Prior to agency work, Murphy worked with the baseball program at perennial powerhouse Cal State Fullerton for coaches Augie Garrido and George Horton.

Jim McNamara
President / Founder


With more than three decades of professional baseball experience, McNamara founded McNamara Baseball Group with a mission to provide unparalleled representation, advice, and protection to players from high school through the Major Leagues. As a Certified Player Agent, McNamara works with many of baseball's best players.

From 1992-93, McNamara played catcher for the San Francisco Giants. The left-handed-hitting backstop was known for his steadiness behind the plate as a solid receiver and game caller with a strong arm. Prior to this MLB stint, McNamara was part of two Texas League championship teams with the Giants’ AA affiliate, Shreveport Captains. At the collegiate level, McNamara was selected as All-ACC First Team Catcher while playing for N.C. State. He was selected in the fifth round of the 1986 amateur draft.

His decades-long involvement has rendered extensive contacts and close relationships with professional baseball's front-office staff, scouts, and coaches, as well as college and high school personnel.

Tim Hecht

Hecht is the Vice President of Hecht Spencer & Associates, a nationally recognized government relations firm in Washington, DC. Prior to his 20-year tenure at Hecht Spencer, he served in the administration of President George H.W. Bush as Deputy Political Director and at the U.S. Department of Commerce as Deputy Counselor to Secretary Robert Mosbacher.

Brad Wendt

Wendt oversees Operations at MBG and has extensive experience building a business and its brand, particularly baseball. For 16 years, he was a principal at a product design consultancy firm responsible for developing a variety of baseball products for Wilson Sporting Goods. Wendt played baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
